Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has honoured 177 exceptional public servants with five brand new cars and a combined N165.5 million in cash prizes, aimed at promoting excellence and dedication in the civil service.
The awards were presented during the 2025 "Mr. Governor’s Luncheon" held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja, marking the grand finale of the Lagos State Public Service Week.
According to a statement by the Governor's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the 177 recipients, spanning junior and senior categories were selected through a rigorous and transparent process from 312 nominations submitted by various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas.
Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for his consistent support and commitment to workers' welfare, urging staff to maintain high standards of responsibility and diligence.
The governor emphasised the importance of collective effort in driving the state's progress, encouraging awardees to sustain their outstanding performance.
In a related gesture, Sanwo-Olu promoted Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, to the rank of Permanent Secretary, and awarded N10 million to the office's staff for elevating Lagos on national and global stages.
