P-Square Feud: Jude Okoye's Wife Holds 800,000 Company Shares, Witness Tells Court

The first prosecution witness, Peter Okoye (of the music duo P-Square), has testified that the wife of his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, owns 800,000 shares in Northside Music Limited, the company at the centre of an alleged theft of over $1 million.

Peter Okoye appeared on Friday, December 12, 2025, before Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, in the ongoing trial of Jude Chigozie Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited.

The defendants, prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Directorate on a four-count charge of theft exceeding $1 million, had pleaded not guilty.

During cross-examination by defence counsel, Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN), who presented bank statements of Northside Music Limited detailing various transactions, Peter Okoye maintained that the accounts belonged to a joint business venture between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

“These statements of account belong to me and my brother. We are P-Square. The company belongs to Peter and Paul,” he said, adding that he reported the matter to the EFCC after discovering funds were being diverted to another entity, Northside Entertainment Company.

He further confirmed that Jude Okoye’s wife holds 800,000 shares in the company and that he had petitioned the EFCC through his lawyer.

The defence sought to tender documents attached to the original petition as evidence, but prosecution counsel, M. K. Bashir, objected, arguing that the documents were public records from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the certified true copies presented were not properly formatted or attached to the original petition.

Justice Oshodi upheld the objection, ruling that the documents did not meet admissibility requirements and marked them as rejected.Peter Okoye also confirmed writing a statement at the EFCC following the petition.

The court adjourned the case to February 20 and 27, 2026, for continuation of trial.
