At least one person has been killed and seven others injured in a violent clash between two groups of Fulani cattle rearers in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 21, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., when an altercation over cattle grazing rights escalated into a fierce confrontation.
Upon receiving the report, police personnel were promptly deployed to the scene to restore order. The injured victims were rushed to Malabu Primary Health Care Clinic for treatment.
Six of the victims received medical attention and were subsequently discharged, while one, identified as Sani Isiya from Wuro Yolde via Fufore LGA, was referred to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital in Yola for advanced care.
Tragically, he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
The Adamawa State Police Command has assigned its Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out a thorough and discreet probe into the circumstances surrounding the clash.
Authorities have appealed to residents for calm, urging communities to resolve disputes through peaceful means and allow the legal process to proceed.
Such intra-group clashes among herders highlight ongoing tensions over grazing resources in the region, even as broader farmer-herder conflicts persist in parts of Adamawa State.
