Troops of the Joint Task Force North East under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) successfully repelled a sophisticated terrorist attack along the vital Maiduguri–Damboa Main Supply Route in Damboa Local Government Area.
The assault, launched by ISWAP/JAS fighters at approximately 3:10 p.m. on December 22, involved multiple armed drones, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and a ground ambush aimed at disrupting military patrols and civilian movement.
Troops from the 25 Brigade, escorting civilians during a dominance patrol, engaged the attackers.
Swift reinforcements from brigade headquarters stabilized the area, denying the terrorists freedom of maneuver.
Military sources confirmed sustained offensive operations under Operation Desert Sanity IV across OPHK sectors.In the North Central region, troops under Operation Enduring Peace and Operation FANSAN YAMMA achieved notable successes against kidnappers.
In Kaduna State, Sector 5 troops, collaborating with local vigilantes, arrested two suspected kidnappers in Pari and Rahama villages, Kauru Local Government Area, during an intelligence-led raid.
In Plateau State, a rapid response in Bokkos LGA forced kidnappers to abandon a reverend and his three children abducted from a church in Makundang village.
The victims were rescued unharmed, debriefed, and reunited with families, while pursuits continue in nearby mountainous terrain.
Separate incidents in Mangu LGA involved a kidnapping where one victim was killed; rescue efforts for the survivor remain ongoing.
The military reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to neutralizing threats and protecting lives nationwide through relentless operations.
