Lagos CP decorates 35 newly-promoted officers

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.

The decoration held at the command’s headquarters saw 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).

In a statement released on Wednesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, Jimoh described the promotions as a clear demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, motivation, and the reward for excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.

“The exercise underscores the fact that hard work, dedication, and discipline are recognised and duly rewarded; it should serve as further motivation for improved performance,” the Commissioner stated.

On behalf of the officers and men of the Lagos State Command, Jimoh thanked the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his trust in the newly promoted personnel.

He noted that the exercise is a “morale booster” that will enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the command.

The CP emphasised that their new status carries greater expectations from both the Force and the public.

He charged them to maintain the highest standards of integrity.

“Demonstrate greater diligence, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of your duties. A higher rank comes with increased responsibility and accountability,” CP Jimoh added.

The commissioner concluded by congratulating the officers’ families and expressing confidence that these promotions would translate into a safer environment for Lagos residents.

“I am confident that you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the safety, security, and protection of lives and property in Lagos State,” he affirmed.
