Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has firmly reassured residents that peace and security in the state remain solid and under complete control.
The assurance followed a State Security Council meeting held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, attended by heads of all security agencies.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the government dismissed recent online rumours and false alarms about impending security threats as baseless and malicious.
“There is no intelligence report indicating any imminent breakdown of law and order in any part of Kano State,” the statement stressed.
Governor Yusuf strongly condemned the deliberate spread of fake news designed to create panic and division, warning that those behind such acts will face the full weight of the law.Security agencies have been placed on heightened alert, strategically deployed across the state, and are working 24/7 with enhanced intelligence and inter-agency collaboration to prevent any breach of peace.
The Governor urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and responsible, especially on social media, while going about their normal activities without fear.“Kano is safe and secure.
Our administration will never allow misinformation or the actions of mischief-makers to disturb the peace we have worked hard to maintain,” he declared.
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to the nearest security formation and to disregard any alarming messages that lack official confirmation.
