ISWAP Insurgents Attack Yobe Villages, Injure Head, Abduct Driver, Loot Health Centre


Suspected fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) launched overnight raids on Ja Jibiri and Ladu villages in Yobe State, leaving a village head injured, a driver abducted, and a local health facility ransacked.


According to security sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the coordinated attacks began around 12:20 a.m. on December 27, 2025.In Ja Jibiri, the village head, 45-year-old Lawan Hassan, sustained a gunshot wound to his left shoulder during the assault.


The militants then moved to neighbouring Ladu village, where they kidnapped 40-year-old Madu Kura, a Toyota Hilux driver. 


They also forced entry into the Primary Health Care Medical Centre, stealing medical supplies, consumables, and other valuables before fleeing with a Volkswagen Golf vehicle.


The injured village head was immediately evacuated to Geidam General Hospital for treatment.


Security forces in the area have heightened patrols and are actively monitoring developments while pursuing leads to locate the abducted driver and recover the insurgents.
