The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has rolled out interim online platforms on social media to handle complaints related to passport and visa applications, following the sudden suspension of its dedicated support accounts.
The move comes after the takedown of the NIS Response handles, which had been assisting the agency's official @nigimmigration account in addressing user queries.
This temporary setup aims to keep communication lines open for applicants encountering issues during their processing, as technical teams work to reinstate the primary channels.
In a statement, the NIS urged affected individuals to channel their concerns through these backup avenues to avoid disruptions in service delivery.
Applicants are encouraged to submit detailed complaints including full name, application or reference number, application mode, passport number (if applicable), location, and email address for swift resolution.
The service specified the following temporary contact points: X (formerly Twitter) handles @InquireAtNaija , @nigimmigration , and @InquireAtNaija_ ; as well as Instagram.
Additionally, email submissions can be directed to complaints@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng.
"We appreciate your patience and understanding. The Service remains committed to responding promptly to all concerns and inquiries," the NIS said in the announcement.
These measures will stay active until the original support platforms are fully restored, ensuring no applicant is left without recourse during the transition.
