The Emir of Kanu, Mohammadu Sanusi II, has called for more bridges of love and unity across the Niger, saying that Nigeria needs the bridges to be one great nation.
The Emir who spoke at Atani, Arochukwu LGA of Abia State on Thursday during the 2025 Atani Day celebration, called on Nigerians to hold hands as brothers and sisters and to recognize one another as ‘citizens of one great nation.’
“I hope that we will continue to build these bridges across the Niger, to hold hands and remain brothers and sisters, citizens of one great country,” the Emir of Kano said.
Sanusi who is a member of Abia International Economic Advisory board, also expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Alex Otti in Abia State, saying that Nigerians are taking note of his efforts.
Speaking at the event, Abia State Governor said that Nigerians should not ploliticise ethnicity and tribalism, noting that arguments on issues should not be founded on ethnicity and religion.
Otti said that Emir Sanusi had gone through a lot of challenges but praised the Emir for not allowing such challenges to affect him.
“So, I don’t know what you are going through today, if there is nobody you want to look at, look at him.
“He was Central Bank Governor, he insisted on the right thing to be done and they removed him. And, I remember his comments then, you can suspend me but you can’t suspend the truth.
“As an Emir, they removed him and then later, he was called back,” Governor Otti said on Emir Sanusi.
