Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, totaling ₦985.9 billion and titled the "Budget of Consolidation of Transformation for Inclusive Development."
Education received the largest allocation at 25%, underscoring the administration's priority on breaking the cycle of poverty through knowledge and securing future generations.
Infrastructure and rural transformation also secured 25%, aimed at connecting communities, opening markets, and boosting economic activity.
Health was allocated 15%, while agriculture and food security got 11.65%. Additional provisions were made for climate change, nutrition, and environmental sustainability.
Capital expenditure dominates at ₦698.9 billion (70.9%), focusing on infrastructure, economic growth, and service delivery, with recurrent expenditure at ₦287 billion (29.1%).A key inclusive feature is ₦100 million allocated to each ward for community-driven projects, empowering grassroots development.
Governor Sani emphasized fiscal discipline, noting no new loans in the budget and ₦114.9 billion already paid in debt servicing.
He highlighted collaboration with the Kaduna State House of Assembly in maintaining peace and driving progress.
"This budget is more than figures it's a promise of progress, opportunity, and better quality of life for every citizen," the governor stated during the signing at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
The administration pledges effective implementation to consolidate gains and foster inclusive growth across the state.
