Innocent Idibia, the Nigerian singer popularly known as 2Baba, has apologised to the public following the intense controversy involving him and his wife Natasha Osawaru.
The saga erupted when two of the singer’s former managers
Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan accused Osawaru of attempting to seize “full
control” over 2Baba’s finances and career during a live stream hosted by Daddy
Freeze.
The situation took a dramatic turn when 2Baba himself joined
the broadcast, demanding his ex-managers stop discussing his private life.
However, shortly after his intervention, a loud argument
between him and Natasha became audible off-camera. Their voices grew
increasingly heated before the live broadcast was abruptly ended.
Wading in, members of 2Baba’s family filed a petition to the
inspector-general of police. The document accused Natasha Osawaru of assault,
bigamy, and financial misconduct, alleging she physically attacked 2Baba in
both the UK and Abuja and withheld his personal documents, including his
passport.
2Baba, however, rejected his family’s narrative, arguing
that their attempt to “save” him is destroying his life and “unfairly
tarnishing Natasha’s character”.
The singer also called out his family for interfering in his
marriage, alleging that his wife is receiving death threats.
Addressing the turmoil at a recent event, a visibly sober
2Baba issued an unreserved apology to the public.
In a now-viral video, the 50-year-old music icon described
the ongoing public spectacle as unwanted “entertainment that needs to stop”.
“I must say that I don provide too much entertainment.
Please do not be angry at me again. Please forgive me and my family,” he said.
