A late-night fire ravaged Malaysia Market in Zuba, on the outskirts of Abuja, destroying over 20 vehicles in an area known for dealing in scrap and used auto parts.
The incident unfolded on December 17 around 11:00 p.m., according to sources. Flames quickly spread through the market, which specializes in salvaged vehicles, before police patrol teams arrived on the scene.
Thanks to the swift response and joint efforts of security personnel and local residents, the blaze was brought under control, averting a potentially larger disaster. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire or assess the total financial damage from the lost vehicles. Investigation is currently underway.
