Former Senator, Dino Melaye has commented on the court appearance of ex-Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), alongside his son, drawing parallels to his own past legal battles.
In a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Melaye noted that the sighting of Malami and his son in court reminded him of the multiple court appearances he faced during Malami's tenure as AGF.
"Former AGF, Abubakar Malami, along with his son, have appeared in court today," Melaye wrote.
"Reminded me of how I was appearing in different courts when Malami as AGF was prosecuting me over frivolous cases including taking over one of the police cases against me."
The outspoken Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain concluded his post by extending goodwill, stating, "Wish him well."
Melaye's remarks come amid ongoing legal proceedings involving the former justice minister, though details of the specific case involving Malami and his son were not elaborated in the post.
During Malami's time as AGF from 2015 to 2023, he oversaw several high-profile prosecutions, some of which involved political figures like Melaye, who faced charges ranging from alleged false information to arms-related offenses, cases the former senator has consistently described as politically motivated.
