The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has strongly refuted circulating claims on social media alleging a fire outbreak at its headquarters in Abuja, labelling the reports as completely unfounded and misleading.
In an official statement, the apex bank reassured the public that its Head Office remains fully operational and secure, with no incident of any kind occurring.
The CBN emphasised the need for responsible information sharing in the digital age, cautioning against the rapid spread of unverified content that could erode public trust in key institutions or spark unwarranted panic.
Nigerians are advised to depend exclusively on official CBN channels for reliable updates and to disregard sensational rumours lacking credible evidence.
