A casual worker at the Gombe State Government House has been killed under suspicious circumstances, according to reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama.
The victim, identified as Mallam Umar Snu, also known as Baba Usama, served as a borehole operator at the newly renovated Taraba House within the Government House complex.
The incident took place on December 26, 2025, around 3:50 p.m., when Baba Usama was found lying motionless. Sources indicate he had his trousers tied around his neck and a local intoxicant known as rubber solution forced into his mouth.
He was immediately rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.
His body has been deposited in the hospital mortuary for further examination.Later that night, at approximately 11:00 p.m., police operatives from the Pantami Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, tracked down and arrested a suspect named Shuaibu Adamu in his hideout at Bagadaza Quarters.
According to sources, the suspect has confessed to the crime. Police investigations are ongoing to establish the motive and determine if others were involved, with a commitment to ensuring justice.
