Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, on Friday presented his Certificate of Return to two prominent traditional rulers in his hometown area.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO and a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), visited the Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi (Lambeloye III), and the Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi.
Describing the visits as acts of gratitude and humility rather than purely political, Oyebamiji noted that Ikire is his home while Apomu holds a special place as a shared heritage for sons and daughters of Ikire.
He stated that receiving the royal blessings from the revered monarchs reinforces the cultural ties between the communities and bolsters his commitment to serve with responsibility and honour.
Oyebamiji expressed appreciation to the APC leadership and members for their confidence in him through what he described as a transparent primary process.
Backed by the prayers and guidance of the traditional rulers and the people, he pledged to run a campaign focused on unity, peace, and purposeful leadership.
Oyebamiji emerged as the APC consensus candidate following the party's primary on December 13, 2025, where other aspirants stepped down in his favour.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 8, 2026.
