Bandits Storm Kaduna Settlements, Rustle 365 Cows in Nighttime Raid

Armed bandits raided four Fulani herders' camps in Iddo village near Janjala, Kagarko Local Government Area, rustling 365 cows on Tuesday night.A local resident, Tukur Musa, told reporters that the attackers, equipped with AK-47 rifles and arriving in large numbers, struck around 8:33 pm, firing sporadically as they herded the animals away.

“The bandits came in large numbers, wielding sophisticated weapons. They invaded the four Fulani settlements one after the other and rustled 365 cows amid sporadic shooting. Some herders were forced to flee,” Musa said.

A community leader, speaking anonymously, said he alerted troops in Kagarko town after receiving a distress call, but the bandits had already fled through Hayin-Dam to Kurutu village, likely heading into the Kurutu forest where stolen cattle are often hidden.

A security source confirmed that troops responded promptly and are pursuing the attackers to recover the livestock.

Attempts to contact Kaduna State Police Command spokesman ASP Hassan Mansur for comment were unsuccessful as of Wednesday.
