Armed bandits who abducted 10 residents from Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on November 25, 2025, have issued a seven-day ultimatum to pay a N300 million ransom, threatening to kill the victims and launch another deadly attack if their demand is not met.
The community head, Mr A. Adeyeye, confirmed the chilling threat on Wednesday, revealing that the kidnappers contacted them by phone on Sunday.
“They initially demanded N500 million but later reduced it to N300 million. We begged them to accept N5 million, but they rejected it outright,” Adeyeye said.
“They gave us just one week to raise the money, warning that if we fail, they will kill all the abductees and return to the community to kill many more people.”
The bandits also reportedly boasted of carrying out a recent attack on Ejiba community in neighbouring Kogi State.
Residents of Isapa now live in fear as the deadline approaches, with many calling on security agencies and the Kwara State Government to intervene urgently and rescue the victims before the ultimatum expires.
