Eric Chele, the Super Eagles head coach, has opted for a heavy rotation to the team’s starting line-up for the final group game against Uganda at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Franco-Malian coach makes eight changes to the team that
started the 3-2 victory over Tunisia in the previous match.
Nigeria are through to the second round of the competition
with two victories from their first two games, and only Victor Osimhen, Calvin
Bassey, and Bruno Onyemaechi retained their spots from the last game.
Francis Uzoho replaces Stanley Nwabali in goal, while Igoh
Ogbu comes in for Semi Ajayi at centre-back. Ryan Alebiosu gets his debut for
the Super Eagles, playing at right back.
The midfield trio will be Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo
Dele-Basiru and Samuel Chukwueze, while Paul Onuachu and Moses Simon.
The Super Eagles take on Uganda at 5 pm Nigerian time on
Tuesday.
Nigeria are top of Group C with six points. Tunisia are
second with three points, while Tanzania and Uganda are third and fourth
respectively with one point each.
