Troops Arrest Key Boko Haram Drug Supplier in Adamawa

The Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai has achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of a 45-year-old drug supplier linked to Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa State.

Zubairu Muhammed was apprehended in the early hours of Thursday in Uba town by troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical) under Sector 4 of the theatre.

In a statement, Theatre Spokesman Lt. Col. Sani Uba said the suspect is a major distributor of cannabis sativa and “ice” (methamphetamine) to terrorists operating in Askira-Uba, Chibok, Michika, and Damboa areas across Adamawa and Borno states.

Recovered items include 14 blocks of cannabis sativa valued at over ₦1 million, 43.9 grams of “ice” worth more than ₦3 million, and two Army camouflage T-shirts allegedly used to disguise his illicit activities.

Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and the seized substances will be transferred to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Yola Command for further action.

The Military High Command praised the troops for their vigilance and urged them to maintain the momentum in disrupting terrorist supply chains.
