President Bola Tinubu has directed a complete security cordon and round-the-clock aerial surveillance over forests in Kwara State following a surge in kidnappings and terrorist activities.
In a swift response to the deteriorating security situation, the President instructed the Nigerian Air Force to intensify and expand air patrols deep into the innermost parts of Kwara’s forests, where intelligence reports indicate terrorists and kidnappers are hiding.
The Air Force is to maintain 24-hour surveillance and establish real-time coordination with ground troops.
The directive extends to the Kebbi and Niger States axis, with security forces tasked to sustain the intensified operations until hostages are rescued and the areas are fully secured.
President Tinubu also called on local communities to promptly report any suspicious movements or strange activities to security agencies, stressing that timely intelligence from residents remains critical to the success of the operations.
