The stolen Toyota Hilux belonging to the convoy of the Kano State Deputy Governor has been recovered by the police after a swift operation.
This is contained in a statement by Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu,
the Press Secretary to the Deputy governor, Comrade Aminu AbdulSalam Gwarzo on
Wednesday.
The Deputy Governor’s Office confirmed the recovery,
explaining that the vehicle was found in the early hours of the day following a
swift and coordinated operation by security operatives.
A suspect, identified as a permanent and pensionable driver,
has been arrested in connection with the theft and is helping the police with
their investigation.
The Deputy Governor’s Office praised the prompt response and
professionalism of the police and other security agencies who helped recover
the vehicle.
It also described the act as a clear breach of trust by the
arrested driver.
“The general public is hereby advised to remain calm and
rest assured that the security of lives and property remains the top priority
of the Kano State Government, both within and outside the Government House,”
the statement added.
