Gunmen invaded a family home in Leisure Court Phase 1 Estate, Aco Division, kidnapping a visiting son and leaving his fiancée battling gunshot wounds in a brazen 12:01 a.m. attack on Monday.
Eyewitness accounts shared with Zagazola Makama reveal the assailants forced entry into Mr. Olusoji Litan’s residence on Mike Ekere Street.
The abductee, Oladeji Emmanuel, son of the homeowner had only arrived in Abuja on Friday, November 9, to see his parents when the nightmare unfolded.
Amid the assault, Emmanuel’s fiancée, Amanda, took bullets to both thighs.A 12:25 a.m. distress call from the estate’s Chief Security Officer triggered an immediate response: police patrols, local hunters, and vigilantes swarmed the scene.
Three expended 7.62mm ammunition shells were recovered from the compound.
Medics rushed Amanda to Lawrence Margaret Teaching Hospital in River Park Estate; she’s now stable and receiving care.
Security forces are in hot pursuit of the fleeing kidnappers, racing to free Emmanuel. The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken charge of the case.
