The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has personally toured security flashpoints in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas to reassure residents of their safety amid rising fears of bandit incursions.
The on-the-spot assessment, which included inspection of deployed personnel, patrol vehicles, and operational equipment, followed recent incidents of abduction and cattle rustling believed to be carried out by migrating bandits from neighbouring states.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesman, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the visit aligns with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s directive to dominate public spaces and neutralize all forms of criminality.
CP Bakori commended the Joint Task Force operatives for their gallantry and urged all officers to maintain maximum alertness and professionalism in the face of emerging threats.Addressing residents directly during the tour, the police boss declared: “The Kano State Police Command is fully committed to protecting every life and property in the state. We will not rest until criminal elements are completely flushed out.”
He called on communities to promptly report suspicious movements or persons to the nearest police formation and pledged continued reinforcement of border communities with more personnel and logistics.
The Commissioner also expressed profound appreciation to the Kano State Government, the Chairmen of Shanono and Tsanyawa LGAs, traditional rulers, and community members for their sustained support and partnership in the fight against crime.
Reaffirming that collaboration remains key to lasting peace, CP Bakori assured residents that the Command, under his leadership, will leave no stone unturned in securing Kano State.
