The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, on Monday, November 17, 2025, conducted a working visit to the Commission's Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) Office in Plateau State.

Professor Amupitan was accompanied by the state's Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq. The visit is part of the Chairman’s routine effort to strengthen oversight and assess the overall readiness of the Commission's field operations across the country.

Upon his arrival, the Chairman was received by the REC and the Electoral Officer (EO) for Jos North. They provided Professor Amupitan with a comprehensive briefing on the current operational activities, facility status, and processes being implemented within the LGA office.

The engagement was designed to ensure that INEC's processes and facilities at the grassroots level remain efficient, secure, and responsive to electoral needs.

In his remarks, Professor Amupitan commended the staff of the Jos North LGA office for their dedication and hard work. He urged them to maintain the highest levels of professionalism and diligence as they carry out the crucial mandate of the Commission in preparation for upcoming electoral events.
