Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has dismissed as “malicious and utterly false” social media reports claiming his predecessor, Willie Obiano, died in a London hospital on Friday.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo confirmed he personally spoke with Obiano, who is alive and in good health.
The governor condemned the spread of such rumors as wicked and irresponsible, urging media, especially online publishers, to verify information through official sources before publishing.
He warned that unverified death hoaxes erode public trust and called on citizens to disregard the claims.Soludo wished Obiano continued strength, peace, and a long, healthy life.
