Gov Ododo Holds High-Level Security Summit with CDS, Army Chief, IGP, DSS DG


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has convened a strategic security meeting with the nation’s top security chiefs as part of an intensified drive to strengthen safety and combat crime across the state.


The crucial parley, held in Lokoja, brought together:

Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Waidi Shaibu, Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and Director-General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Ajayi. 

 

The meeting followed Governor Ododo’s earlier consultation with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, described the engagements as “extremely fruitful,” saying they focused on deepening operational collaboration between Kogi State and federal security agencies.


Fanwo emphasized that the discussions centred on intelligence sharing, rapid response mechanisms, and joint operations to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and other threats in the state.“


This is a clear demonstration of Governor Ododo’s proactive leadership in making Kogi one of the safest states in Nigeria,” the commissioner added.


The governor has assured residents that the outcome of the meetings will translate into visible improvements in security across all three senatorial districts in the coming weeks.
