DSS Arrests Key Arms Dealer in Plateau State Raid

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have captured Musa Abubakar, a suspected major arms supplier allegedly connected to armed groups operating in Plateau State and other northern regions.

The arrest occurred on November 12, 2025, following precise intelligence that guided DSS agents to a targeted operation at Abubakar's arms manufacturing workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area.

A DSS source revealed that the suspect confessed to producing and supplying high-caliber weapons and ammunition to groups responsible for violent attacks across Plateau and northern Nigeria.

"Abubakar was caught in the act with various Improvised Explosive Device (IED) components, chemicals, and manufacturing equipment, all of which have been seized by our operatives," the source stated.

This breakthrough follows the recent recapture of Abdulazeez Obadaki, alias Bomboy, a fugitive from the Kuje Prison break who orchestrated the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks.

The DSS has demonstrated ongoing resolve in countering terrorism through these operations. Earlier arrests include nine high-profile suspects linked to attacks in Plateau and Benue states, among them 46-year-old Timna Manjol from First Baptist Church in Mangu LGA, Plateau State.

Manjol has pleaded guilty to two of four charges, including illegal firearm possession, in case FHC/ABJ/CR/451/2025.
