Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, says China has demonstrated to be a true, faithful, unwavering ally and friend of Nigeria.
In a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday, Sani said
China is a country that has opened its doors to Nigeria’s citizens and made
available its resources for Nigeria’s infrastructure.
His comment is coming after the Chinese government pledged
its firm support to the Nigerian government amid threats of military action by
United States President Donald Trump.
“China has proven to be a faithful and unwavering ally and
friend of Nigeria. It’s a country that has opened its doors to our citizens and
made available its resources for our infrastructures.
“Despite our people being denied visas and deported from
other countries, even within Africa, it refused to accept the stigmatisation of
our country as one of drug and cyber criminals. This is well appreciated and
should not be taken for granted.Chinese solidarity and voice for our
sovereignty at this time will forever be noted in our history.
“I wish to appeal to China NOT to emulate the policy of
assessment of people’s social media history before granting them visa and I
wish to appeal to my countrymen not to compel them towards that direction,”
Sani wrote.
