Troops of the 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP) raided a bandit hideout in Rawaya Village, near Kazok in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, following credible intelligence.
The operation targeted a notorious bandit suspected of stockpiling weapons, who fled just before the troops arrived.
A thorough search of the hideout uncovered a substantial cache, including two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, one revolver pistol, four AK-47 magazines, three G3 magazines, 1,198 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, four rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, three mobile phones, and other items.
The recovered materials are now in custody for further investigation.The JTF OPEP continues its efforts to apprehend the fugitive bandit and his accomplices, reaffirming its commitment to decisively combat criminal elements and maintain safety across the Joint Operations Area
