The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bashir Ojulari, met with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, providing updates on the company’s oil production and efforts to address recent disruptions.
Speaking to State House correspondent Musbau Dan-Wahab after the meeting, Ojulari described the recent spike in cooking gas prices as temporary, assuring Nigerians that prices would normalize soon, barring unforeseen challenges.
Ojulari highlighted the federal government’s successful intervention in resolving a dispute between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
The resolution has mitigated impacts on oil production, distribution, and electricity supply. The NNPCL’s commitment to stabilizing the energy sector aligns with ongoing efforts to ensure affordability and availability of essential commodities like cooking gas for Nigerians.
