Max Air Passengers Stranded as Pilot Refuses to Fly Over Unpaid Dues

Passengers on a Max Air flight scheduled to depart from Maiduguri International Airport on Monday were left stranded after the pilot refused to operate the aircraft, citing an unresolved debt dispute with the airline’s management.

The disruption unfolded after passengers had completed boarding procedures and were awaiting takeoff clearance.

According to eyewitnesses, airline staff abruptly instructed passengers to disembark and return to the terminal, announcing the flight’s cancellation due to the pilot’s refusal to fly.

A source at the airport, speaking to reporters, revealed that the pilot grounded the flight over unpaid entitlements.

“The passengers were checked in and ready to board when the pilot insisted he would not fly until the management settled his dues,” the source said.

The sudden cancellation sparked frustration among passengers, many of whom expressed anger over the lack of immediate alternative travel arrangements.

As of the time of this report, Max Air’s management and officials have issued no official statement regarding the incident.
