A video has emerged of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous
People of Biafra, IPOB, appealing for funds.
Kanu said he ordered Raising Sun Ambassadors to raise funds
globally for him.
The IPOB leader could be heard discussing this with one of
his lawyers, Maxwell Opara in the courtroom of the Abuja Federal High Court.
Kanu is currently facing charges bordering on terrorism
before Justice James Omotosho-led court.
The IPOB lawyer, who is held in custody of the Department of
State Services, DSS, is currently battling with his deteriorating health.
Yesterday, the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, said Kanu’s
ailment is not life threatening.
The medical team was ordered by Justice Omotosho to
ascertain Kanu’s actual health status following conflicting claims on the issue
by medical experts engaged by the prosecution and the defence.
In the panel’s report, submitted to the court on October 13
by the prosecution team led by Adegboyega Awomolo, part of which was read in
the open court during Thursday’s proceedings, it was stated that Kanu’s’s
ailment is not life threatening.
