The national leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially recognized Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the legitimate Interim Party Chairman in Adamawa State, following a controversial leadership selection process.
In a statement issued today by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's National Working Committee (NWC) endorsed the October 25 exercise supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North East, declaring it compliant with prior approvals.
The NWC had, on October 8, authorized the establishment of Interim Executive Committees to temporarily oversee state chapters amid internal challenges.
"After due investigations, the party considers the Saturday, October 25, process... to be in line with the NWC approval and guidelines," the statement read.
The decision comes amid reports of parallel leadership arrangements within the Adamawa chapter, prompting the national headquarters to call for reconciliation.
The party urged dissenting members to "rethink and follow the path of reconciliation," while encouraging Dasin to "extend the hand of fellowship to all and address genuine grievances."
Reaffirming its dedication to internal democracy, the ADC warned against indiscipline that could undermine efforts to strengthen the party.
The development highlights ongoing tensions within the ADC's Adamawa structure as it positions itself ahead of future electoral cycles.
