Former Kaduna State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Nasir El-Rufai, has launched a scathing attack on the current Nigerian government under President Bola Tinubu, describing it as "evil" and the most corrupt administration in the country's history.
In a bold statement made during an appearance on Channels TV's Sunday Politics program on August 31, 2025, El-Rufai asserted that he is the only person qualified to make such a judgment due to his extensive experience with governance.
"I am the only person qualified to call this government evil because I know evil when I see it. This government is the only government that came to make money from day 1 for itself and its cronies," El-Rufai declared, drawing from his background as former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and a key figure in previous administrations.
El-Rufai further accused the administration of plundering the national treasury while citizens suffer amid economic hardships, including naira volatility and widespread poverty.
El-Rufai's comments come amid ongoing political tensions within the APC, where he has positioned himself as a vocal critic of the party's leadership.
In a rejoinder to APC spokesperson Felix Morka's defense of the government, shared on his X account on August 7, 2025, El-Rufai dismissed official narratives as "propaganda" and highlighted indicators of national failure, such as currency devaluation hitting over ₦1,500 to the dollar.
He emphasized that Nigerians are "awake and aware," calling for accountability ahead of the 2027 elections.
