The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched a 30-megawatt power project in Shagamu, Ogun State, a bold step in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda to expand access to reliable electricity nationwide.
As part of the plan, every one of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas will be guaranteed a minimum of 5MW of power supply, ensuring that rural and urban communities alike benefit from improved energy access.
This initiative reflects the Tinubu administration’s determination to shift from the old model of centralized, unreliable power delivery to a more decentralized, community-driven energy strategy.
By prioritizing local generation and distribution, the government seeks to reduce blackouts, support small businesses, and accelerate industrial growth.
The Shagamu project is more than powering homes—it embodies President Tinubu’s commitment to retooling the economy, creating jobs, and boosting productivity through modern infrastructure.
For ordinary Nigerians, this translates into improved electricity for schools, health centers, markets, and factories, sparking economic activity and improving quality of life across the federation.
