Dangote Refinery has dispatched three additional petrol shipments to the United States, following its inaugural delivery, reinforcing its growing presence in the global energy market.
Between August 26 and September 4, 2025, three vessels—Gemini Pearl, Mh Daisen, and Seaexplorer—sailed from the refinery to New York Harbour, carrying a combined total of over 124,000 tonnes of gasoline.
The Gemini Pearl offloaded more than 42,000 tonnes at New Jersey terminals on September 15 and 16, while the Mh Daisen and Seaexplorer, transporting over 82,000 tonnes, are currently en route.
Edwin Devakumar, Executive Director of Dangote Refinery, emphasized the facility’s commitment to meeting stringent US standards.
“Our output consistently aligns with US specifications, with sulphur content maintained between 3 to 6 ppm and octane ratings meeting New York Harbour’s rigorous standards,” Devakumar stated.
This export milestone underscores the refinery’s capacity to produce high-quality fuel for international markets, boosting Nigeria’s role as a key player in global energy trade.
The shipments follow Dangote’s first US-bound delivery, signaling a strategic expansion amid domestic debates over fuel pricing and supply.
