A Brazilian billionaire, who reportedly never met Neymar, has left his entire £846 million fortune to the 33-year-old football star, according to Brazilian outlet RIC.
The will, formalized on June 12 at a notary office in Porto Alegre with two witnesses, is now awaiting clearance from Brazilian courts to confirm Neymar as the heir.
The unidentified businessman, said to be childless and single, allegedly chose Neymar due to a personal connection, admiring the player’s close bond with his father, Neymar Sr., which reminded him of his own late father.
Neymar, who has not commented publicly on the reports, could face legal challenges even if the will is approved.
The former Barcelona star recently returned to his boyhood club, Santos, in January after a disappointing stint with Saudi Pro League’s Al-Hilal.
During the second half of the 2024-25 season, Neymar scored three goals in 14 appearances for Santos, where he previously netted 136 goals in 225 games from 2009 to 2013.
