Two vigilante members have been killed in a bomb explosion suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post
shared on X on Monday.
He explained that the incident happened on Friday, September
27, along the Damaturu–Buni Yadi Road, near Madiya village. The explosion,
which went off around 2:30 p.m., killed the two vigilantes on the spot.
The victims were identified as 35-year-old Kinnafi Modu and
27-year-old Mamman Kasaisa. Two other vigilantes sustained serious injuries and
were rushed to the General Hospital in Damaturu for treatment.
According to Makama, a police team led by the Divisional
Police Officer of Gujba and the Officer-in-Charge of the State Intelligence
Bureau visited the scene, assisted with evacuation and clearance, and restored
calm in the area.
He added that security has since been beefed up along the
Damaturu–Buni Yadi Road, with tactical teams placed on alert to prevent further
