The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has set a new benchmark by generating N20.1 billion in daily revenue, just 24 hours after Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba took charge as the new Customs Area Controller.
This unprecedented achievement, facilitated through the Unified Customs Management System, known as B’Odogwu, marks the highest daily revenue collection ever recorded by any NCS command.
Superintendent Tunde Ayagbalo, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, announced the milestone in a statement on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, noting that the figure surpassed the previous record of N18 billion set under prior leadership.
“This remarkable feat is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and discipline of our officers,” Ayagbalo said, urging the team to strive for even greater heights.
Comptroller Oshoba, reacting to the record-breaking collection, described it as a stepping stone for bigger accomplishments.
“This is just the beginning. I envision greater exploits for Apapa, the flagship command of the NCS, under my leadership,” he stated.
He highlighted the critical role of the B’Odogwu system in modernizing customs operations, reinforcing Nigeria’s status as Africa’s largest economy.
“B’Odogwu is pivotal to building an efficient customs administration that supports our economic goals,” Oshoba added.
Expressing gratitude to his team and stakeholders, Oshoba emphasized the need for sustained focus.
“This is not the time to clap, as clapping means taking both hands off work to celebrate. We must keep pushing forward,” he cautioned.
The record-breaking revenue underscores Apapa Command’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s trade ecosystem and signals a promising start for Oshoba’s tenure, with expectations of further innovations to enhance customs efficiency and national economic growth.
