Wike Boosts Abuja’s Water Access with Major Project Rollout in Bwari, Karu, Kubwa

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has kicked off a new phase of infrastructure development in Abuja, focusing on enhancing water supply for residents.

On August 19, 2025, Wike commissioned the rehabilitated Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant at the Lower Usuma Dam in Bwari.

The initiative continues tomorrow with the launch of water supply expansion projects in Bwari Township, followed by Karu and surrounding areas on Thursday.

These efforts are part of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Project, secured through an agreement during President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 visit to China, aimed at ensuring sustainable water access for satellite communities, including Bwari, Kubwa, and Karu.
