Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade celebrated Nigeria’s recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) victory by visiting the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
During the church’s monthly Power Must Change Hands service, Ajibade presented her WAFCON winner’s medal and individual awards, including the Woman of the Tournament plaque, to MFM General Overseer Dr. Daniel Olukoya and his wife, Shade Olukoya, as a gesture of gratitude for divine protection throughout the tournament.
Ajibade, a former MFM FC Women’s player, shared a heartfelt testimony with the congregation, reflecting on her journey from humble beginnings to leading Nigeria to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Morocco in the 2024 WAFCON final in Rabat.
“I was once a little girl hawking olive oil, zobo, and kunu at MFM deliverance programs,” she said, crediting her success to persistent prayer and spiritual support from Pastor Olukoya.
“We won by the grace of God, and it’s only right to return all glory to Him,” she added, drawing cheers and prayers from the congregation.
The event, attended by high-profile figures including Lagos State First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, saw Ajibade gift the Olukoyas a personalized Super Falcons jersey inscribed with “OLUKOYA 01.”
Pastor Olukoya praised her faith and discipline, calling her achievement a “testimony of divine faithfulness.”
The church’s social media celebrated her as a symbol of God’s grace, declaring, “This is not just talent—it’s the undeniable grace of God at work.”
Ajibade’s standout performance as captain and MVP of the tournament has inspired many, particularly young Nigerian girls.
She urged the congregation to persevere, saying, “Keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing.” Her visit underscored the intersection of faith and excellence, resonating deeply with worshippers.
