Northerners won't vote for President that will import Alcohol into North - APC Chieftain

APC chieftain Alwan Hassan, has declared that the North would never support Peter Obi as president due to his association with alcohol breweries.

Responding to the anchor's comment that President Bola Tinubu has never lost an election as a senator or governor, Hassan confidently stated, “And he will never lose an election. I am predicting, with the facts on the ground, he will not lose.

Who else do you think will defeat Asiwaju?”Hassan criticized Obi, a former Anambra governor, for promoting his brewery business during a previous Channels TV appearance while seeking northern support.

“Is it Peter Obi that was on your programme saying he wants the North to support him and in the same programme, he was celebrating building a brewery in Anambra state and being the biggest importer of alcohol? And he wants the North to vote for him? We will vote for a president that will import alcohol in the North?” Hassan remarked.

He also took aim at unnamed candidates, saying, “Is it those ones that are saying their wives are taking care of them? We cannot hand over this country to men being fed by their wives.”

When pressed to clarify, Hassan added, “Somebody was here and said his wife is an entrepreneur. We want a man that is a man of his house. We don’t want a man that his wife is feeding.”

This comment appeared to reference former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, who recently described his wife, Judith, as a successful businesswoman on Channels TV.

Amaechi’s statement had sparked controversy, with his successor, Nyesom Wike, alleging that Judith received N4 billion from the NDDC for a women’s skills acquisition program—an accusation she has denied.
