Lauretta Onochie’s Heartfelt Letter to Late Buhari, Decries APC’s Fall from Grace

In a deeply emotional open letter to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, his former Special Assistant on Digital and Social Media, has decried the All Progressives Congress (APC) for abandoning the core values of fairness, justice, and accountability that defined his tenure.

Posted on her verified Facebook page on Thursday, August 14, 2025, the letter laments the party’s transformation into what she calls a “private enterprise” overtaken by impunity.

Onochie, who also served as Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), expressed dismay at the erosion of the APC’s principles since Buhari’s passing on July 13, 2025. “Dear Baba, APC is now a Private Enterprise.

Fairness, equity, justice, equality, etc., have all been kpaied,” she wrote, highlighting incidents of party leaders allegedly assaulting airport staff and hijacking planes, only to be rewarded with high-profile positions.

“Iniquities are sprayed with roses and perfumes; unless you belong to the opposition,” she added.

Reaffirming her loyalty to Buhari’s legacy, Onochie assured him that his followers continue to uphold his vision of righteousness. “Sorry Baba, there’s no more APC.

Thank you for showing us that righteousness is possible among Nigerians and in Nigeria. God bless your soul,” she concluded.

“Dear Baba, APC is now a Private Enterprise. It has lost all the values you stood for. Fairness, equity, justice, equality, etc., have all been kpaied,” she wrote, using a colloquial term implying the values have been discarded or destroyed.

Describing the current state of affairs within the ruling party, she lamented what she referred to as a culture of impunity and reward for wrongdoing.

“APC chieftains assault airport staff. They hijack planes and then are rewarded as ambassadors. Iniquities are sprayed with roses and perfumes; unless you belong to the opposition,” Onochie wrote.

Despite her grievances, she assured the late former president that his followers would not abandon the principles he upheld.

“Sorry Baba, there’s no more APC. Thank you for showing us that righteousness is possible among Nigerians and in Nigeria. God bless your soul,” she concluded.
