He spoke on Wednesday through a post on X, a day after
hosting Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, at the presidential villa in
Abuja.
Tinubu said he agrees with Soludo that those who profess
progressive ideals must work together to deepen democracy, strengthen security,
and transform the economy.
“We discussed the bold reforms underway, the need to stay
the course, and the importance of tackling insecurity through both decisive
action and inclusive opportunities for our teeming youth,” the president said.
“Our administration will continue to partner with every
state that is serious about human, social, and economic development because
Nigeria’s progress is strongest when we work together.
“We will continue to take a bet on our dear country,
Nigeria, to ensure sustainable and shared prosperity for the future.”
The Anambra governor arrived for the closed-door meeting
wearing a cap emblazoned with Tinubu’s insignia, a red traditional attire,
complete with a branded white face cap.
Speaking to State House correspondents afterwards, Soludo
described the discussions as “quite pleasant” and said the president is in
“robust health and high spirits”.
He also said his friendship with Tinubu spans over two
decades and would not be broken by political differences.
