Governor Abba Yusuf Sacks Two Senior Aides Over Misconduct

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has terminated the appointments of two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) following their implication in separate cases of misconduct, as revealed by investigative committees.

The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Farouk, in a statement issued on Sunday.

One of the sacked aides was found to have played a mastermind role in securing the bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu, while the other was dismissed for involvement in the diversion of palliative grains intended for vulnerable residents of the state.

The identities of the two SSAs were not disclosed in the statement, but their actions were deemed a breach of trust and public duty.

In a related development, the state government cleared Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainage, of all allegations leveled against him.

An investigative committee thoroughly examined the claims and affirmed his innocence, allowing him to continue in his role.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability, emphasizing that no one found guilty of misconduct would be spared, regardless of their position.

The sackings and exoneration underscore the state’s ongoing efforts to uphold integrity in governance.

The Kano State Government has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, as it continues to strengthen mechanisms to protect public resources and ensure justice.

Further details on the cases are expected to be released as investigations conclude.
