A fierce blaze tore through the Music House, a prominent business complex owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday evening.
The Guardian reports that the fire, which broke out around 7:30 pm, disrupted live broadcasts and operations at the complex, home to Ayefele’s Merry Makers’ Band, Tiwantiwa Radio, Blast FM, and the popular Fresh FM.
Samuel Ibikunle, an eyewitness, raised the alarm, urgently calling for the Oyo State Fire Service to intervene.
“Fresh FM is burning! We need the Fire Service now. Please spread the word,” he pleaded.
Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, head of the Oyo State Fire Service, confirmed that firefighters were on-site, battling to contain the blaze.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain unclear at this time.
