The Federal Government has pledged to deepen its collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to curb road accidents and enhance safety across Nigeria’s highways, according to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In a statement shared via his official X handle, Tunji-Ojo announced that he hosted FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and his management team during a courtesy visit to his office on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
The meeting centered on strategies to address the persistent challenge of road accidents in Nigeria through strengthened partnerships.
“The FRSC is critical to safeguarding lives and property on our roads. Our discussions underscored the need for robust collaboration to tackle road safety challenges head-on,” Tunji-Ojo stated.
He emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
The minister highlighted the importance of proactive measures and innovative approaches to reduce road crashes, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the FRSC’s mandate.
The courtesy visit marks a significant step toward fostering synergy between the Ministry of Interior and the FRSC to achieve measurable improvements in road safety.
