FAAC Distributes ₦2.001 Trillion in July Revenue to Federal, State, Local Govts

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has announced the disbursement of ₦2.001 trillion in revenue for July 2025, shared among the federal, state, and local governments.

The allocation, drawn from a total gross revenue of ₦3.837 trillion, was revealed during the committee’s latest meeting in Abuja.According to FAAC, ₦152.681 billion was deducted to cover collection expenses, while ₦1.683 trillion was set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

The gross statutory revenue for July stood at ₦3.070 trillion, reflecting a significant decline of ₦415.108 billion compared to June’s ₦3.485 trillion.

However, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue saw a slight uptick, rising to ₦687.940 billion in July from ₦678.165 billion in June, an increase of ₦9.775 billion.

From the distributable pool, the Federal Government received ₦735.081 billion, while state governments were allocated ₦660.349 billion, and local government councils received ₦485.039 billion.

Additionally, oil-producing states were granted ₦120.359 billion as derivation revenue, representing 13 percent of mineral earnings for the month.

The FAAC’s report highlights the ongoing fluctuations in Nigeria’s revenue streams, with the decline in statutory revenue raising concerns about fiscal sustainability amid rising economic demands.

The committee’s allocation highlights the government’s efforts to balance resource distribution across the three tiers of government while addressing critical financial obligations.
