Dangote Refinery Slashes Diesel Depot Price to ₦960 Per Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot price for diesel, lowering it from ₦990 to ₦960 per litre, effective immediately.

The ₦30 price cut, confirmed by the refinery’s spokesperson Anthony Chiejina, marks another step in the company’s efforts to ease economic pressures on Nigerian consumers and businesses.

The price adjustment follows a series of reductions since the refinery began diesel production in January 2024, with prices dropping from an initial ₦1,700 per litre to as low as ₦940 in April 2024 for bulk buyers.

The latest move aligns with Dangote’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic recovery by reducing fuel costs, which are expected to lower transportation and production expenses, potentially curbing inflation.

Industry analysts praise the reduction, noting that the refinery’s competitive pricing continues to disrupt the market, challenging diesel importers and boosting local supply.

The refinery urged marketers to pass on the benefits to consumers, reinforcing its goal of fostering affordability and energy security across Nigeria.
